I started my journey in real estate at the age of 16 when I first shadowed a few local agents. Feeling out the industry and trying to see if it was something I would be interested in.
After deciding it was definitely the career path I wanted to follow, I enrolled at mendocino college in all of the real estate classes possible.
At this time being only 16 being on Independent Study and taking general ed classes at the college, I had a couple of years to wait until I was able to get my Real Estate License.
I was working 3+ jobs the next two years, going to school, taking 26 units in one semester! and continuing to take real estate classes, work at a new real estate office in Ukiah and getting my feet wet wherever possible.
Two months before I turned 17, I graduated High School and had 5 real estate classes under my belt, but still 1 more year to wait to be able to begin my career.
I continued to work, go to school and I was able to get my associates degree in Business: Management, Real Estate and Entrepreneurship.
I love education, but I do not love the idea of being $$$ of dollars in debt for a career that won’t allow me to pay that back. So I decided for the meantime I am happy with my 3 Associate Degrees. Working and trying to save did not prepare me for the financial struggle that came with the first year of real estate.
It took me 8 months to get my first sale and another 5 months after that to get another. Luckily I was able to stick it out, eat ramen and continue to flourish.
Since then, I haven’t had one transaction that is the exact same, every personality I deal with is completely different, every home is completely different and every day is completely different.
Real Estate isn’t at all what I had imagined it would be, but I wouldn’t trade a single day for anything else. In Real Estate you aren’t just looking at homes all day long.
I run my own business, I am peoples therapist, I put out fires and I do so much more than I could’ve ever imagined.
Even though there are really hard days, the feeling I get when sitting at the closing table if a feeling, I wouldn’t trade.
I’ve found myself, who I serve best, and what sets me apart from the rest. I hope to continue to make an impact in the community, help educate on both buying and selling real estate.
If there is anything I can do to help you or a friend whether its real estate or something else, please reach out to me!
